At Checkmate K9 Fertility Services we offer a range of fully trained and qualified canine fertility services for all breeds. We are council licenced breeders and also have our own stud dogs available to purebred and mixed breed ladies.

What We Offer
Semen Analysis checks the overall motility, sperm count and morphology which determines your dog’s fertility and improves possible conception at mating.
Vaginal Cytology is a painless procedure, whereby a vaginal swab is taken of the cells lining the vagina and are analysed under a specialist microscope.
Artificial insemination mimics the process of a natural mating, whereby the semen is collected from the stud dog and placed close to the cervix of the female via a sterile catheter.
From 28 days post-mating, ultrasound imaging can be used to detect and confirm pregnancy and can aid the prediction of the litter size. For the best result we advise scanning to take place between day 30 – 35 gestation. The ultrasound is a completely painless procedure whereby a handheld probe is moved across the surface of the skin over the abdomen producing internal images that are displayed on the monitor.
A microchip is a small electronic chip, around the size of a grain of rice. It is implanted under the dog’s skin and contains a unique number that is registered to a database. The microchip can be read by a scanner should your pet get lost or stolen.
